I AM BenBaker

Utilizing my strengths
as a Strategic Communications Leader
to achieve your goals.

Expertise is forged through experience. I have been blessed over my career to work in and with different departments, industries, sizes of organizations and across countries and continents.  What all of this has taught me is that there is not one de facto way to communicate, but communication must resonate with those being communicated with.

Account Development: Long-term and profitable relationships are built and maintained based on trust, understanding, and ongoing communication. I work with clients to understand their challenges, how they help their clients succeed, and what their aspirations and goals are. It is about developing opportunities to achieve together, rely upon each other, and create solutions that take them from where they are to where they desire to be. No one wants to be sold, they want their problems resolved and stress alleviated.

Aligning Stakeholders: It is remarkable to me how often organizations are not on the same page and are unaware of it.  Competing compensation, agendas, projects or priorities.  I work with organizations to understand what is important to whom and why, and help develop consistent communication that brings people together and work towards common goals and objectives.

Solidifying Communications: Companies communicate differently based on department, medium, and audience. The trick is that when there is no consistent theme or set of goals that are clearly communicated, it leads to confusion, mistrust, and brand misalignment.  When this happens, good clients pull back, and everyone else goes looking for organizations where they understand and identify with what is being conveyed.

Implementing Change: Change is an eventuality; however, as Harvard Business Review states, “70% of change initiatives fail,” and they fail because of a lack of strategy, leadership, clear goals and clear communication.  When people are clear about what the goals are, what needs to be done to achieve them, and how it benefits them once the goals are met, they are more likely to put in the hard work to get there.  They also need to know what the ramifications of not changing are, and how it might affect them adversely.

Creating Internal and External Communication with Impact: Impact is about moving from where you are to where you desire to be.  This is done when internal and external stakeholders believe that there is a greater goal in mind that benefits them and allows them to succeed where they would otherwise fail.

Helping You Succeed on Your Terms: Every organization has their own wants, needs, fears, aspirations and desires.  My goal is to understand yours, your opportunities and challenges and work within your constraints to enable you to succeed on your terms.

When we speak in the language of our clients, whether they be internal or external, they listen, understand, value, internalize, recall and retell in ways that are meaningful to their audience . . .  and ideas spread.

Below, are some of the types of projects I have been involved in, and lessons learned that will help us achieve your goals together.
